Sometimes people misunderstand you because they don’t know what you are about. That is to say that you should be careful who speaks into your life. There are many people who are trying to speak into your life and yet they are very ignorant of what your life and assignment is all about.
“Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work” (John 4:34 KJV)
In the text above, our Lord Jesus Christ is trying to educate His disciples concerning His mandate. He was teaching them to understand why they were called. He wanted to help them to know their assignment. He was clear on that; He said “my meat is to do the will of him that sent me and to finish his work.”
What is the will of He that sent Him and what is this work that must be finished?

The will of the Father:
The will of He that sent Him is for all men to be saved. 1 Timothy 2:1-8 teaches that the will of God is that all men be saved and come to the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. The salvation of the world is the will of the Father who sent Him. God wants all men saved.

The works that must be finished:
His work that must be finished is that we preach the gospel (Mark 16:14-20): Gather the harvest unto eternal life (John 4: 35-37); and to raise men who can raise others (Mark 3:13-16).
We are called as a people to:
-
Preach the gospel of the kingdom of God.
We must go into the community, highways and hedges to preach the gospel. This is our foremost assignment. We are called to preach the gospel to the world around us.

Plant and grow churches:
The churches are the barns on which we preserve the fruits and harvest of souls. We are committed to build churches around the world to preserve the harvest.

Lastly, raise men who can raise others:
God works in generations; we must always strive to raise sons who can raise others.
Be inspired and press on to fulfil this mandate. May the Lord strengthen and keep you. May you press on to reach, and teach, and touch your world.
