A steward as we know is the manager of a big house; an overseer of another man’s goods or business.
And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods. And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward. Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my Lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed (Luke 16:1-3 KJV)
In this text, we learn that stewardship is neither a calling nor a gift but a position of trust. Stewardship is a position that could be lost or taken back by the Lord. I have learned that my stewardship can be taken away from me. This is like a wake-up call to me and to all brethren who hold positions of trust in the kingdom of God.
There are so many people waiting to take our place if we don’t keep faith with the Lord. It’s a mistake to think that you are indispensable because you are not. 1 Corinthians 4:1-2 teaches that the most important quality for stewardship is faithfulness; staying full of faith, being constant.
Now, like the steward in the text, we too can’t dig and we would be ashamed to beg, so we can’t lose our place in stewardship. Our only option is to be found faithful as stewards. If you agree that we cannot dig and we are ashamed to beg, then it’s time to arise and rally round the colours of the church. We have to;
We cannot dig and to beg we are ashamed; we must arise and rally to push the brand. Nothing will keep us in this place of trust than faithfulness.
May the Lord bless you as you step out to push the brand! Your faithfulness will pay off.
Let’s give hope, prayer, and encouragement below. Post a comment and let the discussion continue.
I love you
