We have in a previous discussion considered who a father is; types of fathers, the difference between a father and a good man, as well as the benefits of reconnecting with your fathers.
Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse (Malachi 4:5-6 KJV)
I acknowledge that many of us have strained relationships with our fathers and children. I believe the Holy Spirit wants to revise and restore the emotional connections between fathers and children. It important to state that it takes the anointing of Elijah to reconnect families. There is an anointing that connects and reconnects us.
The simple secrets to reconnect and strengthen fathers and their children include the following:

Catching the spirit of Elisha and Ruth:
It takes a resolution to “stick to the end” to reconnect and strengthen ties with your father. There are times when staying and sticking could be challenging. There are times when the situation may suggest that you should be bitter and return, but you must resolve to love and stick. You must always find creative ways of reconnecting with him emotionally (Malachi 4:6)

Follow him as he follows the Lord:
Fatherhood is a relationship and not an event. You will touch the heart of your father and procure his blessings if you learn to imitate his faith. You must imitate the faith of your father if you want to be blessed by his Grace. Elisha followed and was blessed; Ruth followed and was blessed. You will follow and be blessed. (1 Corinthians 4:14-21)

Honour him:
The third secret to reconnect and strengthen is to honour your father in the faith. Nothing touches the heart of the father than children who honour him (Ephesians 6:1-2). From today you will honour the fathers in your life. You will not despise any father in your life. May God help you to stand firm and honour your father no matter what.

Cover his nakedness:
Protect your father against ridicule. Don’t discuss your father’s weakness with any man or woman. We learn from Noah and his sons that fathers can be very upset with children who try to mock them. Protect your father when he is not sober. Protect your father when he is weak. Protect your father’s nakedness if you want to be blessed.

Fight his battles:
Psalm 127:5 tells us that children fight their father’s battles. That is why the man who has many children face and speak with his enemy at the gates. Today you will resolve to fight your father’s battle.

Preserve his harvest:
Proverbs 10:5 teaches that the son that sleeps at the time of harvest is a shame to his father. As children we will look beyond the four walls of our HighCity Cathedral. We will arise and rally to work and harvest the fields of souls. Beloved touch my heart and the father’s heart by preserving the harvest of souls.

Make his soul glad:
Finally, you will win your father’s heart if learn to make his soul glad. Isaac requested his favourite meal so that his soul could bless his son. The son that puts a smile on his father’s face will be blessed.
Connect, follow, honour, protect, augment, serve and refresh your father. This is the secrets to breaking curses; to prepare yourself for the lord, to prosper, to live love and to be blessed. May your heart be knitted to that of your father in the faith. Be blessed and stay faithful.
