“And David came to Saul, and stood before him: and he loved him greatly; and he became his armour bearer.” (1 Samuel 16:21 KJV)
1 Samuel 16 narrates the story of how David was anointed to be king of Israel. We understand that Samuel anointed David to be king but the questions is, how did he win the heart of kings and important people. As I have anointed you, or will be anointing you with oil, you will win the heart of kings and will be promoted. The anointing will set you apart and exalt you.
Now, what are the other things that set David apart to be recommended and loved. The Bible says King Saul “loved him greatly.”
As the oil comes upon you, expect the unexpected. Expect great things. Expect the Lord to take you to the next level. Expect some things to change in your life. The oil will make a big difference in your life. May God take you to the next level. Expect to be lifted. But beyond the anointing, build these seven things;
1. A sense of responsibility:
David kept his father’s sheep though he was young. It was possible to appoint him over a business.
2. Cunningness:
He had developed skill in some things. He had trained for some things.
3. Might:
He was not just mighty but valiant as well. He was a mighty valiant man.
4. Battle ready:
David was a man of war. Life is not easy on anyone. There are many things that will try to stop you but you must fight and breakthrough.
5. Prudence:
David survived attacks and lived on because he behaved himself wisely. He was prudent in all matters.
6. Comeliness:
David was well groomed. He did not allow his circumstance to determine his appearance. Though was a shepherd, he was well groomed
7. Divine presence:
God was with him. May God be you. May His presence never leave us. May He dwell among us.
