“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord God.” (Ezekiel 22:30-31 KJV)
John 3:14-18, teaches us that because God loved the world, He sent His son to come and die for us that those who believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. The dark world around us can be saved but it takes more than just the death of Christ Jesus on the cross.
In Romans 1:16, the apostle tells us the power of God to save the world is the gospel. The preaching of the cross. The cross and the work of Christ on the cross cannot save the world except it is proclaimed to the lost world. The world must hear the news of His death and resurrection.
The real condemnation is when men still choose to walk in darkness even after God has sent them light. Indeed men will continue to walk in darkness because they are unaware of the shinning light of God. There are many people who are lost in darkness because they have not heard the gospel. They have not seen the light. The world must see the light and hear the gospel.
I want to share with you some simple prayers to pray for the lost world.
Pray that the Lord, the true God will reveal Himself to the lost world. Pray that He will reveal Jesus Christ, His son that He sent to the world and community around us. John 17:1-3 teaches that God wants the Lord Jesus Christ to give eternal life to those He gave Him. Now, eternal life is to know the true God and His son, Jesus Christ.
Pray that God will engage His unadulterated word to turn the stubborn and darken heart of the world to the light. “The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the Lord . Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord ; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord , that steal my words every one from his neighbour.” (Jeremiah 23:28-30 KJV)
Pray that God will put His spirit within them and sprinkle their heart with water: Ezekiel 36:24-27
Pray that God will remove satan’s influence that the world may see the glorious light in the gospel. 2Corinthians 4:4
Pray that the lord will extend His mercy to the world, save them by grace as He did for us: To forgive the sins of the lost world; and to spare them as he has spared us. (Ezekiel 22:30-31) Pray that the Lord will be patient with the lost as he was with us. (2 Peter 3:9)
Pray that the Lord will send labourers and give us doors of ministry to serve the lost. Help us to live out our faith before the world and give us an opportunity to minister to them. (Matthew 5:13-16)
This is the time, arise and pray for the lost world. The world must hear the gospel and be saved. Stand in the gap, make the hedge. We must pray that the Lord will spare the land. Stay blessed
