“Samuel also said unto Saul, The Lord sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the Lord . Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.” (1 Samuel 15:1-3 KJV)
Today, I want to exhort you on how to remain at the top. Many people fail when they succeed. Many fall usually from the top. Many cannot handle promotion because they stumble into it and are quite unaware that God gave them the success, and not of themselves.
The text you read above is God’s word to Saul before He sent him. He reminded him that he was nobody until God lifted him. You will survive success if you remind yourself that God lifted you and lifted you up for a reason.
I see your lifting! I believe God will lift you and give you grace. He will lift you up to serve His purpose among men. The simple secret to surviving success is to be reminded that you are just a messenger on an errand in this land. We are running errands for God. These are divine errands to establish the sovereign dominion of God among men.
The king Saul was sent on such an errand. He was sent to establish God’s dominion on earth. He was no better than Agag; he was only a servant. I am only a servant; you are only a messenger. Represent God on His terms. You cannot go out there and do your own thing. You must seek to give all the glory to God.
At the end of it all, God must be seen, not you. You must glorify God and show forth His glory. You must carry out God’s assignment at the top. We are God’s people and we serve His purpose.
