“And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them. And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is: Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ. For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done. And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.” (Acts 4:23-33 KJV)
Today, I want to exhort you that when you realise that you are on the right path and in the right direction, then all you have to do is just keep walking.
There is nothing more you have to do than just keep walking; just keep doing what you have to be doing as long as you are in the right path and in the right direction. There is nothing more you can do besides this. Many people miss the way, the truth, and the life because they go seeking after other things. Surely, when we keep walking in the right path and direction, we will finally make it and leave a legacy.
From our Bible passage, after the apostles concluded that they were on the right path and in the right direction in following the call of the Lord, they just continued and kept walking. Even in the event that they were faced with stiff opposition, rejection and abandonment, they remained resolute!
They;
Stayed connected: They returned to their own company, they lifted their voice and prayed with one accord, they were of one heart and soul.
Continued doing what they had to do: The Lord Jesus Christ told them to preach the gospel, teach the truth, and model the life. None of the things that happened changed what they were told to do. Even when they were scattered, they preached the gospel wherever they went. Philip went to samaria and there preached the word.
Left the rest to God: they prayed and continued, and then trusted God with the rest. Indeed, God did not disappoint them. Though the opposition and resistance was still there, He gave them great grace and worked miracles among them.
The most important thing is to be sure you are on the right path and direction. You just have to rest in the arms of Lord and He will show up and show Himself strong. Never give up, just keep walking; you will arrive. You will not miss it. The going may be tough but press on and you will win.
Keep walking in the way, the truth, and the life.
