“The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” (3 John 1:1-4 KJV)
As your pastor, I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in the truth. Nothing shames a pastor more than when his children pretend to walk in the truth but are not. Beyond the fact that I rejoice greatly when I hear that you are walking in the truth; I also wish above all things that you will prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.
I have already taught you that there are four things that enables you to live a mighty life in the earth: wisdom, power, influence, and money. We have learnt the secret to power and today we want to learn about the secret to taking charge of our finances and quality of life. Just wishing that you prosper and be in health is not enough. We want to spend some time understanding how to make it happen, because that’s what’s important.
The three simple factors that can fight your finances and quality of life are;
- A shut heaven
- A poor attitude towards work
- Devourers attacking your storehouse
To effectively take charge of your finances and quality of life;
1. Humble yourself, pray, seek the face of the Lord and eschew evil: 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 teaches that God will heal our land and forgive us of sin and wickedness when we humble ourselves and pray. Your prayer is a secret to a better life. Prayer is a key; a great key. Never underestimate the power of prayer. Prayer unlocks shut heavens and procures divine speed.
2. Be diligent at work: Proverbs 10:4 teaches that those who deal with a slack hand become poor. Therefore the scriptures instruct us clearly in Romans 12:11-13 to be fervent in spirit and not slothful in business. “Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.” (Romans 12:11-13)
3. Prove God with your tithes and offerings: Malachi 3:8-12 teaches that the most effective weapon against devourers is our tithes and offerings. When we bring our tithes and offerings to the Lord, He opens the heavens and pours His blessings. You can pray all you want and bind all you can; the divine key to rebuke devourers is to prove God with tithes and offerings. Your giving will release the voice of the Lord to rebuke your devourers.
These are the three simple keys to taking charge of your finances and quality of life: to pray, to be diligent at work and in life, and to prove God with your tithes and offerings. These are the three simple secrets to a better life and strong finances.
