“Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.” (Matthew 1:18-20 KJV)
How you react when others fail is a reflection of who you are! The broken and shattered often are critical of others when they fail.
The scriptures show how Joseph after he found out that Mary was pregnant, being a just man did not want to make her a public example. He did not want to shame or disgrace her. Just men would not gossip and shame those who fail. Just men and women would keèp private issues private.
A just person will not take advantage of other people‘s failures in order to disgrace or shame them. Joseph was a just man. He sought to put Mary away privately. He acted justly.
How do you react when other people fail? Do you understand that they might have done better if they had had your opportunities? Joseph was really a just man. He did not rejoice in the mistake of Mary. He did not rejoice in evil. He acted right, and God spoke to him as a result.
Dearly beloved, let us learn to act in love and in Christ. We can approach those who err in the true Spirit of Christ and restore them. I have been there before. I know how it feels like when people you live with and are close to betray and expose your flaws and failings. Noah cursed Canaan because Ham exposed his nakedness and shame.
How you react when others fail reflects your own internal chemistry.
I love you, stay blessed.
