No matter how many people attend our meetings and church services weekly, the will of God is that all men everywhere should be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. This is the will of God. You may gather thousands, hundreds or tens weekly, but as long as there are men and women and children that have drifted so far from God in the streets and around us, the heart of God is still bleeding with love.
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” (1 Timothy 2:1-6 KJV)
Apostle Paul is speaking to the church with regards to what our responsibility towards the world and community around us is. God wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
I believe with all of my heart that if the church would step out with a hunger to see a great awakening around the world, there would be a great change. Men and women have drifted so much from God. Our night life shows this. As I drive round the cities I have visited on missions, I can literally tell what the spiritual tempo is merely by observing their night life.
For most of the cities, the night is lit and littered with pubs and red light spots. We have lost all morals. The harlot in the street at night is still the singer in church on the Lord’s day.
I pray for an awakening. I pray that God will tune and turn our hearts aright. May God turn our hearts to Him. We cannot continue to party in here while the world next door perishes. We must arise and step out to win the world.
If we are really serious about escaping eternal retribution, winning our community, and growing the church, then everyone of us must;
- Receive the word with gladness
- Be baptized in water, spirit and fire
- Be properly added to the church
“And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.” (Acts 2:40-41 KJV)
We have a collective responsibility to the world and community around us. We must firstly be saved and baptized, then we can contribute meaningfully to the saving of our community.
I love you, stay blessed.
