All Things Are Lawful

“All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power. Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

All things are lawful; all things are lawful but all things are not expedient; all things are lawful, but don’t be brought under the power of anything.

I have come to understand that though all things are lawful we must have the common sense to choose our actions and choose  them intelligently. We should strive not to be brought under the power of anything. We should make intelligent choices.

There are two main things that try to control men and women everywhere: food and sex. Many have become moral failures because of their addiction to food and sex. The scriptures teach that the belly for food and food for the belly; God will destroy them both. Nothing destroys generations than food and sex. Any generation that is brought under the control of food and sex gets destroyed.

The scriptures exhorts us to flee fornication. The scriptures reveal that sexual sin affects both our relationship with God and our bodies. May the Lord give this generation the wisdom to choose intelligently and expediently! Our bodies are the temples of God; let us be careful how we treat and use the body. Don’t let food and sex steal your strength and power. Let us be careful about the use of the body.

May we glorify God both in our bodies and spirits! May we not dishonour our bodies! May the almighty God sustain us! Be delivered from the demons of lust and gluttony! Be admonished and glorify God in your bodies and spirit.

Anything that represents dishonour in your life is rebuked! Be delivered from the demons of lust and gluttony.
