[Psalms 75:4-7 KJV] “I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn: Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck. For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another”.
I believe that God at this season wants to entrust things into your care. I believe God wants to trust some of us with many things. We shall be studying how to command promotion. We have been told that promotion does not come from the east nor from the west nor from the south; promotion comes from above, from God. He is the judge; He weighs all men and determines who to be lifted and who to be demoted.
When Jesus says yes, nobody can say no. Our days and times are in His hands; He will determine when and how we would be promoted. This is the season when God would promote and entrust something into your care. God is ready and willing to promote each one of us. He wants to make us rulers over His households and entrust us with greater responsibilities and charge.
God want each of us to advance through the three stages of promotion; to move from;
- Being stranded
- To being a servant
- To being a steward
- To being made a ruler over all
Many people fall into the pitfalls of promotion. Many of us don’t get promoted to our full potential because just a little promotion leads us astray. It is therefore important that when you are promoted, you are not be tempted to;
- Deal foolishly
- Lift up your horn
- Speak with a stiff neck
This is our season of promotion. In fact, our season for breakthroughs and open doors is here. I am trusting God to open unto each of us great and effectual doors. May God open unto us marital, financial and business doors; may you find that dream job! May the Lord be your helper.
How then do you pull the trigger! How can anyone of us pull the triggers that stimulate promotion? How can you pass the promotion test? The secrets to promotion are enshrined in one parable. Our Lord Jesus taught in Luke 12:42-48 that,
“And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his Lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
Blessed is that servant, whom his Lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
But and if that servant say in his heart, My Lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; The Lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
And that servant, which knew his Lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes.
For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more”.
Always remember this:
- It is the available and willing person who gets engaged
- It is the faithful and wise servant who gets promoted to stewardship
- The steward who prepares his or herself is the one who gets greater and better results, and gets promoted to rulership.
So how can you command promotion? A steward must be found faithful at all times. This is the key secret to command promotion;
Faithfulness:
1 Corinthians 4:1-5 teaches that it is required of a steward to be faithful. We must be committed to do the will of the Master. King Saul was rejected because he did not do the will of God. Faithfulness will always be rewarded. God cannot overlook the faithful. God always opens greater doors to those who are faithful in all things. I know that as you work diligently and faithfully, Heaven will promote you.
Wisdom:
You must be a wise steward for maximum results. Wisdom we know is profitable to direct. A steward who works with wisdom gets better results and gets promoted. May you never lack wisdom! May the Lord give you great wisdom to solve complex problems of life!
Service:
The Master promotes servants, not strangers. If you really want God to promote you, you must start by serving the brethren. The greatest among us must be the servant. God cannot entrust anything into your hands unless your hands are already holding something. You must learn to start at, with what and who you have. Consider the widow with the little oil. The woman could be helped by the prophet because she had a little oil at home.
Preparation:
Develop skills; a servant who knows his master’s will must prepare himself to discharge it completely. You must prepare for promotion and be prepared to deliver when you are promoted.
Do you remember the day Peter caught a boat breaking catch? His breakthrough came at a time when he was not prepared for it. May the Lord help us to prepare for life.
You shall not fail! The Lord will be your helper! The Lord will be your promoter!
