[Revelation 12:7-12 KJV] “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time”.
We are standing in the midst of a real battle with a realm enemy. The devil is not a phenomenon but a real persons who leads a third of all stars. He leads a generation of fallen stars; he is himself a fallen angel (See Ezekiel 28:12-18). He inspires godlessness, rebellion, darkness, lies, deception, and cruelty.
Why should you sleep on the job when we stand in the midst of a battle against darkness and cruelty? Why sleep on the job when the devil roars, rages, and rants as an angry beast?
It is important to inform you that the battlefield is your mind, you will therefore win the war when you pay attention to the following key things:
Direct your senses:
Focus on the right things. Focus your sight, hearing, smell, taste, and feeling on the right things. Your senses are like input devices. What you allow your eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and skin to focus on can trap you. You must learn to set boundaries and control input.
Renew your mind:
Proverbs 23:7 teaches that as a man thinks in his heart so is he. Think right! Renew your mind. Allow the truth to renew your mind. The mind is key to victory. Focus on Christ Jesus lest you become weary in your mind.
Guard your heart with all diligence:
(See Proverbs 4:4, Matthew 13:33-35). When you make the tree good; the fruits will be good. The heart is important and must be protected. The heart is the centre where most decisions are processed. The heart is important and we must keep it safe.
Bridle your tongue:
From James 3:2-5 and Proverbs 18:2-4, we know that the tongue is a beast and a poison. We must bridle the tongue and speak only the things that brings life and prosperity. Your tongue is your most effective tool to win the battle against evil and cruelty.
Yield your members as instruments of righteousness:
(See Romans 6:13, 19). Many of us are just yield to sin as if it does not matter. It matters! The Lord wants us to yield our memebers as instrutments of righteousness.
This is the time and the season;
This is when we need to win the battle against evil. Why sleep on the job? Oh sleeper wake up! You must arise and combat because we must win!
