[1 Thessalonians 5:14-15 KJV] “Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men”.
As we prepare and look forward to the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, it is needful for us to be at peace with ourselves and with each other. We have accepted the exhortation to be at peace with each other. We must however understand that genuinely being at peace with each other is not possible, until we put in place the proper measures to foster peace.
There are many times, when certain people creep in and trouble the church. There are times when the church does not have peace because certain unscrupulous elements have entered and trouble the church. These are often decievers and crafty brethren who come in and deliberately breakdown the proper systems of the church through sin. This is the time for us to do some house cleaning.
The apostle Paul is exhorting us to do five simple things to sanitize the church;
Warn the unruly:
There are some who walk disorderly and out of control; warn them. Don’t let them utterly destroy the church. I send this as a final warning and note to any one of us walking disorderly.
Comfort the feeble minded:
There are also many with feeble minds who must be encouraged and comforted. Many have lost their faith because they are feeble minded. They are not strong in their minds, so they slip at the least thing. May the Lord sustain them in the name of Jesus Christ!
Support the weak:
Not all men are strong in faith and body. Some are weak. There is a call on us to support the weak. God wants us to lend a helping hand to the weak.
Be patient towards all men:
This is very important. Without patience we will swallow each other. Patience is the master key and strength of love.
Don’t render evil for evil unto any man:
You may be offended in many things, but see to it that you don’t render evil for evil to any man. Vengeance is the Lord’s, so when people think they have cheated you, just let them be, and allow God to repay.
It is my prayer that we will walk in the bond of peace, and allow the Spirit of God to reign in our hearts.
Be blessed; I love you!
