[2 Timothy 4:7-8 KJV] “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: [8] Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing”.
We know that the purpose of God is the save and translate all men from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His Son that we might serve Him to our full potential.
We also know there are many evil forces that are trying to keep you from ever leaving the kingdom of darkness or ever serving God with your full potential. These evil forces do not want you to leave or ever serve God, and even if you would, they do not want you to go far or all out in serving the Lord, yet you must go all out for God.
Indeed, when Saul, the apostle, encountered the Lord on the road to Damascus, and received a heavenly vision, he was obedient to the heaven vision, and determined to finish his course with joy (See Acts 26:12-20).
At his conversion, the Lord made it very clear to him that he had appeared to him for a purpose, and the apostle was so determined to run to finish his course (See Acts 20:22-25)
He stated it clearly at one point when the church tried to persuade him to slow down (See Acts 21:8-15)
In that same way, we must be determined to fight to the end. We must be willing to finish our course with joy, come hell or high water.
I shall be discussing five key things that will help each of us to run till we finish our course with joy.
1. The first thing is clarity;
Apostle Paul had no doubt in his mind whatsoever about what the Lord wanted him to do. The vision was so clear in his mind. The instruction was so fresh and he was so persuaded that it is the will of God.
Habakkuk 2:1-4, stand upon your watch and see what he will say unto you.
In Acts 13:1-5, as they ministered unto the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit spoke to them. There was no doubt what the Lord want them to do. May the Lord speak to us in this season. May we have no doubt concerning what His will for us is.
2. The second things is courage;
Without courage, you will not obey the voice of God. Without courage, you will not step out and go all out. Fear will prolong the journey. Be strong and courageous.
3. The third thing is common sense;
Wisdom is profitable to direct. Wisdom is the principal thing. In all thy getting, get understanding.
4. The fourth thing is consistency;
Apostle Paul accomplished much because he focused on the one thing he was assigned to, and did it. I am sure he did the same thing consistently until he started prospering.
5. The final thing is connection;
You must be connected to Christ, the core, the church, contacts, and even your converts. Connection matters! Fellowship matter!
Prayer and Benediction
Be inspired, determine to fight to the end. Don’t stop, just keep fighting. Fight with clarity, courage, common sense, consistency, and connection. You will win.
