[Acts 16:12-15 KJV] “And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days. [13] And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither. [14] And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us : whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul. [15] And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us , saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there . And she constrained us”.
A church is a fellowship of two or more believers; a place where two or more people meet to share fellowship and to offer spiritual sacrifices. The church is the called out bride prepared for the Lamb.
The Bible teaches us how the church in Philippi started. We learned that Apostle Paul and Barnabas went there, and on the sabbath, they found a place to pray. The only place they could find was the riverside.
The Bible tells us that they then spoke to certain women that had come there to relax or resort.
The simple steps to plant and grow a church are;
- Fulfil all protocols and travel to the city
- Get all necessary permits to work in missions
- Find and book for a meeting place that is neat, accessible, affordable, safe, and functional
- Purpose and plan meetings
- Set up the meeting place
- Invite and witness to many in the city
- Follow up those invited
- Arrive on time to dhe meeting
- Start and run the meeting to be simple, relevant, upbeat and edifying
- Groom, pray, study, and witness daily
By these simple steps, a church can be planted anywhere. Be blessed;
I love you!
