[Romans 1:9-10 KJV] “For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers; [10] Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you”.
The whole duty of man is to fear the Lord and keep His commandments; we are created to serve and re-present God to our generation, and no man can do this except by the help of the Holy Spirit and by the person’s spirit. Apostle Paul testifies that he serves the Lord with his spirit in the gospel.
Indeed, singing is singing, speaking is speaking, shouting is shouting, rejoicing is rejoicing until you begin to sing with your spirit, speak with your spirit, shout with your spirit, or rejoice with your spirit.
The Bible tells us that when the seventy returned with testimonies of dominion, the Lord rejoiced in the spirit. Luke 10:21 reveals clearly that, “In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.“
The Lord rejoiced in the spirit; meaning, you can rejoice in the spirit and you can also rejoice in the flesh. We must all strive to do the things we do for the kingdom, in the Spirit and with our spirits. We must serve the Lord with our spirits.
Let us pray with our spirits and pray with our understanding; let us sing with our spirits and sing with understanding.
[1 Corinthians 14:14-15 KJV] “For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. [15] What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also”.
There comes a time when you should know what you are doing, and at others times, you hardly even understand what you are doing, yet you are getting results. The difference is also why and how we do it. Sometimes, we do the things because we know why and how; but other times you may do certain things and you don’t even know why.
Don’t just sing because you have to sing, or shout because they said shout; you must strive to do it in the Spirit. Allow the Holy Ghost to take over and inspire you to action. Be blessed!
I love you;
