[Leviticus 6:12-13 KJV] “And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings. [13] The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out”.
The will of God for us is to keep the fire burning without going out. The Lord wants fire on the altar always, but many of us have ashes in the place of the fire. The truth is, wood burns and turns to ashes, so when you stop putting wood in the fireplace, you will soon have ashes instead of fire.
Therefore, the Lord instructed that the priest that serve in the temple should put fire in the fireplace daily. The Bible tells us that we are the kings and priests bought and washed and made so to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have a responsibility; to keep the fire burning. We must keep the altar hot and ablaze
The Lord instructed that the priest put wood and sacrifice on the altar morning by morning. So, the Lord recommends daily visits to the altar. He said, the priest must visit and repair the altar every morning. Morning by morning to recieve new mercies.
Three simple things that will keep the fire burning in the altar of your heart are:
1. Daily prayer and word:
You get on fire when you keep the prayer altar hot. God wants you to have daily fellowship with Him. We must put wood in the fireplace daily.
2. Daily burnt offerings:
Burnt offering represents your giving and charity. Seeking daily opportunities to reach out to someone who cannot pay you back. It involves casting your bread upon the water, giving to the church and the needy. The Bible tells us that “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”. When you give daily to the kingdom, your heart will be in the kingdom. If you invest nothing into the kingdom, your heart will soon grow cold.
3. Daily peace offerings:
Simply put, this involves forgiving your friends. Making peace with the people around you. If you don’t forgive, you will grow bitter and whither away soon. God is looking forward to find your peace offering.
He has left us a promise that He will give us beauty for ashes. Let us come daily, morning by morning to the altar and minister to keep the fire burning. Stay blessed!
I love you;
