Marriage: Don’t Accept Anyone You Feel Blessed to Have

God never created a dependant for the man; He created a help meet for a man. If you feel blessed to have me, remember, you are not my helper. You should not feel dependant on me, you should feel resourceful with me. You should feel like you are meeting a need in my life, and vice versa.

I have been there before, when I felt that I needed people so much and I saw how people manipulated me. Listen, you must not be dependant on any person; neither should you feel self-sufficient.

Ruth was not blessed to meet Boaz; Boaz was also equally blessed to meet a woman like Ruth. Modern preachers have made women silly, by saying you will find your Boaz, as if Ruth would not have survived if there was no Boaz. Please Ruth did not come to Bethlehem because she was looking for Boaz. She came because she wanted to be loyal to Naomi and her God.

You will be fooled if you go looking for Boaz; just live your life, but don’t let go of Boaz if you find him.

Eve did not feel so blessed to have Adam, though Adam was the steward over everything in the earth. Eve was not looking for anything. Even was just in to help Adam. She had not come to amass wealth, she had just come in to be a helper.

If you feel so blessed to be married to a banker, the plain fact is, you are not his type. I can’t see how an engineer will feel blessed to be married to a banker. I can’t see how a lawyer will feel so blessed to be married to an engineer. In that same way, I don’t see how a teacher should feel so blessed to be married to a banker. That feeling in itself is an inferiority complex that must be dealt with.

So please, instead of sitting around hoping to get married to a banker one day, wake up and become a banker yourself. Instead of hoping that one day you will meet and marry a rich guy, please start working hard and become that rich guy.

You have what it takes, you can make it. You can succeed if you put your mind to it. God is on your side and you can make it. You don’t need to cheapen yourself. You can rise above the new norm and work hard by grace to succeed. Stay blessed!
