The Lord has been our dwelling place for ages; therefore, we ought to dwell in safety. The name of the Lord is a strong tower and the righteous run into it and they are safe. The Lord has been our dwelling before the mountains were formed and the earth was made. He has been our dwelling in all generations.
[Psalms 90:1 KJV] “Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations”
(REF: Psalm 90)
But in the process of time, we turned into children of destruction because we made that choice. But remember, the Lord has been our dwelling place from generations to generations; until we rebelled against His wisdom. Death then began to reign until the Second Adam conquered death. Our lives became so short and brief. The Lord has been our dwelling place since time immemorial but His anger was kindled against us when we rebelled.
[Psalm 90:3-11 KJV] “Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men. [4] For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. [5] Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up. [6] In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth. [7] For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled. [8] Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance. [9] For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told . [10] The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. [11] Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath”.
It is important, therefore, to seek four key things from the Lord. We must pray that the Lord will;
1. Give us the wisdom to number our days:
That we might apply our hearts to wisdom. Men grow foolish when we lose sight of the fact that our lives are short. We need the wisdom to number our days. May the Lord help us to number our days. May we never lose the ability to number our days.
[Psalm 90:12-13 KJV] “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. [13] Return, O Lord , how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants”.
2. Satisfy us early with mercy:
May the Lord satisfy us early with mercy. May we not see delay anymore. May we walk in the grace of mercy and speed. May the Lord restore unto us the wasted years.
[Psalm 90:14-15 KJV] “O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. [15] Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil”.
3. We must pray that the works of the Lord shall appear unto us:
We must pray that God will show us His works. I desire that we shall see the miracle-working power of God.
[Psalm 90:16 KJV] “Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children”.
4. Finally, that the Lord shall establish the works of our hands:
I pray that you shall not fail. I pray that the Lord shall keep and sustain you. May Jehovah continue to be your dwelling place.
[Psalms 90:17 KJV] “And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it”.
May the Lord sustain you. He shall be our dwelling place. May the Almighty be your keeper. May you never miss the way. His banner over is His love. Stay blessed!
I love you;
