Life is full of seasons and cycles; there are both bad and good seasons. There are seasons of fair weather and seasons of bad weather. Just as there are sunny days, there are cloudy days too; but the man who builds his house upon the rock is the man who can withstand the rainy and stormy days.
[Matthew 7:24-27 KJV] “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: [25] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. [26] And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: [27] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it”.
It takes only two simple steps to build your life on the rock;
- Hear the word which Christ speaks
- Do what He says to you
These are the two simple secrets to withstanding the storms of life. Indeed, we cannot stop the rains nor the floods, but we can build our lives to withstand every rain or flood. We can make up our minds to prepare against the day of adversity.
The rhema – the spoken word – is the secret to building a storm-proof life. When you learn to listen and do the word that Christ spoke, you are building a storm-proof life. Any marriage, business or friendship that is built on the word is storm-proof. You and I can build storm-proof lives. We can and we must. You cannot leave life to chance, the storm may never hit but it is better to be prepared than to leave your life to chance.
Let us commit ourselves to listen and do His word. We will live a storm-proof and flood-proof life. As we listen and do the word, nothing in life can flood us. The word will fortify each of us and make us prepared and strong for every storm. I pray that none of us shall be a forgetful hearer, but we shall do the word and be proofed against every storm.
This is the only proof of wisdom. The wise person is one who builds his house on the word. The word is the Rock that followed Israel in the wilderness and gave them water in a dry and thirsty land. Jesus Christ is that Rock; if any man comes to Him, that man will neither thirst nor hunger.
I pray that whatever choice you have to make henceforth, shall be guided by the word of Christ. I pray that our minds shall be renewed by the truth of scripture and bring about the need to change. None shall fail nor suffer loss. The rain and floods shall have no power over you. Amen! Be blessed!
I love you;
