[1 Corinthians 7:39 KJV] “The wife is bound
by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord”.
We all know that “marriage is honourable above all; especially the bed undefiled”. The will of God for you is to marry, rather than to burn or fornicate. I believe with all of my heart that God wants each of us to me married in church in a Christian way. I believe that God will make a way for us to be married and to enjoy the home.
There are, however, certain conditions that undergird Christian marriages and ensure success;
1. The first is the availability of your choice:
A man or woman who is bound by law to another, who is still alive, cannot be a possible choice for you. The man or woman should not be bound to any other by law.
2. The second condition is mutual consent:
The Bible frowns on forced marriages. The Bible does not allow any, especially a woman, to be forced into marriage. The apostle Paul teaches that a woman who is loosed from her husband by law may marry whosoever she wills. She must will and give her consent.
3. The third condition is that the couple must both be in the Lord:
The Bible frowns on unequal yoking with unbelievers. She can marry, she is at liberty to marry anyone, but in the Lord. The condition of same faith cannot be overlooked.
You must respect these conditions of marriage if you want to marry the Christian way. Stay blessed!
