[Malachi 3:10-12 KJV] “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it . [11] And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. [12] And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts”.
A tithe is a tenth of your increase. It is an act of worship and an acknowledgement that God is partner with you in your finances and career. We tithe to acknowledge that God is the source of our increase and our helper. Tithing is part of worship. We don’t tithe in fulfilment to any law but as an act of worship; and God blesses us as a result.
Under the new testament, we are redeemed from the curse of the law but not from the wisdom it teaches. The fact that I am redeemed from the curse of the law does not mean I should have sex with my father’s wife. We have been redeemed from the curse of the law alright, but we must walk in the steps of faith of our father, Abraham.
[Romans 4:12 KJV] “And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised”.
As we walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham and tithe as he did, we step into the same blessings that he stepped into.
1. The Lord will open to us the windows of heaven, and pour us out a blessing:
There is a spiritual storehouse, a place where treasures and riches are kept; indeed, one of the most effective ways to access this spiritual storehouse is by tithing. The Lord assures us that if we bring the tithes and offering, He will open the storehouse of heaven and pour us a blessing. One of the things God will do for a tither and not for a non-tither is to open unto him the spiritual storehouse. Some people have gained access to this blessing already but they can keep the doors and bowels of blessing and mercy open by being faithful with tithing.
2. The Lord will rebuke the devourer for their sakes (not the non-tither) that he shall not destroy the fruits of their ground; neither shall their vine cast off its fruit before the time in the field:
The word of God assures us that when we bring the tithes and offerings to His house, He shall rebuke the devourer that destroys our fruits and cast off the tender vines. Your tithes keeps the devourer out and guarantees your fruitfulness.
3. All nations shall call them blessed: because they shall be a delightsome land:
Finally, when we bring the tithes and offerings to the storehouse, the nations will call us blessed and we shall be a delightsome nation. The Lord shall preserve the faithful, and we shall become the delight of generations to come.
These are the blessings of tithing and giving. May the Lord open heaven and pour blessings upon you in the name of Jesus Christ. You will not fail but shall succeed! Be blessed!
