[Luke 24:45-48 KJV] “Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, [46] And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: [47] And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. [48] And ye are witnesses of these things”.
The greatest problem facing all men is the problem of sin. Sin is man’s biggest problem and there is no way we can deal with the challenge of sin until these three things are in place. The three simple things no man can do without are;
1. The Christ and His sacrifice:
The Bible says, “it behoves on Christ to suffer and to rise on the third day, so that repentance may be preach in all nations beginning from Jerusalem”. We know that “where there is no shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins“. Jesus Christ suffered on the cross that we may believe and be saved. He suffered in our place that we might not suffer.
2. The preacher and His preaching:
The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 1:21-22, that God saw that the world in her wisdom did not know Him, God has therefore chosen that by the foolishness of preaching, He will save those who believe. We need the preacher and his preaching to be saved. The world cannot be saved except there are preachers and preaching (See Romans 10:13-17). We know that, “the preaching of the gospel is the power of God to save the world”.
3. Your personal repentance and faith;
No man can be saved and changed until that person personally changes his mind and believes the truth. Anybody who feels too big to repent and believe for the remission of sin will go to hell and languish in the Lake of Fire when they die. The soul that sins shall die but those who trust Jesus to pay for their sins shall be pardoned and they shall live forever.
You can never deal with the problem of sin until your have these three things. As long as you believe there is nothing wrong with you, you cannot be changed. You must admit your wrong and need for Christ. You need the preacher and his preaching in order to deal with sin.
