One of the greatest enemies of the human race is the devil, that old serpent. He is the deceptive beast of the whole earth who deceives the sons of men and the nations. He is the accuser of the brethren, the enemy who tries to control the nations with lies. He is a fierce beast, he seeks to make all men sin and rebel against God and the truth.
Three simple ways to overcome the devil are;
1. Invoke and activate the blood of Jesus:
The blood of Jesus is powerful and efficacious. When devils and destruction see the blood, they turn away. The blood is given for protection. “… they overcame him by the blood of the lamb…” . You can overcome only by the blood. The blood is the power that empowers the saints against the dangers of the evil and Satan.
2. The word of your testimony:
The second effective weapon against Satan is the word of our testimony. The active word defeats the devil and defeats him utterly. When we use the word in our daily lives and in prayer, we win over evil. The word of God is sharp and powerful against evil.
3. Not loving your life even unto death:
The fear of death leads to bondage. The Bible says that Jesus tasted death that He might deliver those who through the fear of death have been in bondage to Satan. Many are in bondage to the powers of darkness because they fear to stand up to them. You can win and overcome through the courage to withstand even in the face of death.
The devil is no much for the saint, but we must engage in warfare. We must use these weapons against him. You can win over evil and triumph as you engage these weapons in battle. May the Lord help you to overcome and subdue the devil.
