Today, we will learn how to believe and remain faithful to what we have believed; this is because when a people believe God and remain faithful to what they believe, His arm shows up to help them dispose what they have proposed.
Anchor Text:
[Isaiah 53:1 KJV] “Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?”
The Discussion:
The Bible teaches that man proposes but God disposes. Man proposes but God disposes of; so then to see the manifestation of the things we dream about, aspire for, or run after; we must desire to see the arm of the Lord revealed and at work. The Bible teaches us very clearly that “by the arm of flesh shall no man prevail”. Life and living is more spiritual than social or natural. You must understand that most of the outcomes we see, result from our spiritual lives more than our social lives.
If you really want to see the revelation of the arm of the Lord and to see the arm helping you, two things are important: Faith and faithfulness. You must demonstrate faith and faithfulness in; The Sender (God), the Sent, and the Sermon. You must believe the report of the Lord and continue in it till you overcome. That is, faith and faithfulness to the Lord, to the preacher, and to the message.
The preacher, therefore asked, “who has believed our report?…”. True faith is anchored in the three agents of God:
- The Sender: God
- The Sent: The preacher, prophet, pastor, apostle, evangelist, or teacher.
- The Sermon: The report and the message.
You must believe in the Sender, the Sent, and the Sermon. The Bible says people can not believe if they have not heard, they can’t hear except there is a preacher, and they can’t preach except they have been sent.
[Romans 10:13-17 KJV] “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. [14] How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? [15] And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! [16] But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? [17] So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”“.
As a minister, I could not have been here except I am sent. I have been sent by God and by the church, and by people who believe in what God is doing in my ministry. To see the hand of the Lord in all that you do, you must have faith and be absolutely faithful to God, the preacher, and the message. We must throw our weight behind God, behind the preacher, and behind the word. That is how you see the hand of God at work in your life. The Lord, the preacher, and the sermon is what reveals the arm of the Lord in action. Nothing would stop you as long as you have faith and are faithful to the Lord, the preacher, and the message.
Faith and faithfulness are so important. We must keep faith with the Lord, with the pastor, and the word. Let us learn to be submitted to the Lord, the preacher, and the Word. When the pastor speaks, let us be submitted to his words. Sometimes he may not make sense but we must be submitted if we want to see the hand of God. You cannot disrespect the pastor and ask God for help.
The following are the steps to faith and faithfulness;
1. Admit that you cannot help yourself:
Until the prodigal son admitted that he could not help himself, he was not ready to believe and accept the father’s grace.
2. Believe that Jesus has made a way for us:
There is no other way to safely make it without losing your soul and dignity, except to believe in the finished work of Christ Jesus.
3. Continue to speak and obey the word until you breakthrough;
2 Corinthians 4:13 teaches that those who believe speak, and James 1:26 declares that faith without works is dead. What you say and do matters. However, faith must produce two responses: confession, and obedience. If you believe you will speak and act.
Conclusion:
You will never miss the way the Lord is leading. You will rise above all odds because the Lord will be your helper, Amen!
Be blessed, I love you!
