[Matthew 6:31-34 KJV] “Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? [32] (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. [33] But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. [34] Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof”.
Motivation
One day I thought to myself, “what are the nations looking for? ” It was at this point that I realize that Everyone is looking forward to a better life and being a better person. Everyone of us wants to see a better day, and become a better person. Many of us are not looking for change, we are just looking for improvement and getting better.
The quest of the nation’s, all the nations around us is on a quest to living in a better way and become better persons.
The Bible tells us that all the nations are on an adventurous journey to seek the things that make living better; but if we seek the kingdom and the righteousness of God, all these things that the nations cheat, kill, lie, and dupe for shall be added to us. So, just seek first the kingdom of God and the righteousness of God, and all these things shall be added to you.
Discussion
Remember that every man everywhere in any nation has a desire for a better life and to become a better person. Many of us are not looking for change, we just want to become better and live better lives.
The essence of religion and faith therefore is to teach and empower us for a better life and to become better people. In this regard, the Christian doctrine does a better work on the human race.
John 1:12 teaches that when we believe, Jesus gives us the power to become children of God, not just to live as children of God, but to become children of God. This means we become as God; the highest quality of being.
John 10:9-10 teaches that Jesus came that you might have life and have it more abundantly.
Whenever we come together, we receive truth and grace to direct and empower us for a better life; that is why we gather.
Remember, the essence of religion and faith is to teach and empower us to trek the path that leads to a better life without stress.
