I want to talk to you today about breaking the hold of age-old cases. I will be exhorting you using the story of the man who had been lying by the Pool of Bethesda for 38 years
[John 5:5-9 KJV] “And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. [6] When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? [7] The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. [8] Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. [9] And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath”.

The Bible tells us about how in the days of Jesus, there was a pool in Jerusalem where the sick and maimed and halt come to be healed by the stirring of the water of the pool by an angel. Many sick people came to seek healing there.
The Bible, however, tells us that notable among the many that came to find healing at the pool was a man who had been lying there for 38 years. There were many sick people that come to the sheep pool to find healing. What makes this man’s story unique was the fact that he had been lying there in this case for far too long.
I am sharing and teaching from this text because there are many in diverse places of life who have been held bound in various cases for far too long. Many are halt and maimed and bound by many conditions for far too long. I believe that the time has come to close your case of bondage and weakness.
The problem with this man and as with many of us is that even though he was at the right place, he had a poor attitude; Even though he was with the right person, he had the wrong perspective; Even though he was asked the right question, he gave presumptuous answers.
The four simple keys that can guarantee a supernatural turn around for any man anywhere are;
1. Be at the right place at the right time:
Being at the right place — the appointed place — at the right time. You must be in the right room at the right time with the right people. The man was where he needed to be and he had his moment. I pray that this will be your moment for a turnaround! May the angel of the Lord come by your seat and touch you for a turnaround in Jesus’ name!
2. Have the right attitude and perspective in every divine encounter:
The man had the right encounter but a poor attitude and perspective. Sometimes, we are with the right person, but our poor attitude and perspective ruin the moment.
Having the right attitude and perspective matters a lot. Every one of us must have the right attitude. The man had an attitude of bitterness. He was asked a simple question, and he began to complain about what his family members have done to him, and how that he had been abandoned.
In many cases, perspective matters a lot. Everyone in that room received healing by falling into a pool, but it does not mean that that is the only way to find healing. Although we have all come to church, God’s help might show up in a different way. Be open to the nudging and promptings of the Holy Ghost. Be open to all possibilities.
3. Hear and answer right:
Please, whenever you are having a divine break — that glorious moment — don’t just talk. Hearing and answering right will begin the wheel of a turnaround. The answer to every question is in the question. The Lord saw him and He knew that he had been there for too long. He had mercy on him and asked him a simple question. There was no need to go beyond the question.
4. Finally, obey the word, but with wisdom:
Hmmm! Even though the Lord told him to rise up, and carry his bed and walk; He did not ask him to carry his bed home on the Sabbath. The carrying of the bed was just to test for healing and wholeness. Obeying the word is needed but be circumspect. Begin by obeying the word. The value of any revelation is in the doing of the instruction.
So, remember four things matter; Being at the right place at the right time with the right person, Having the right encounter with the right attitude and perspective, Hearing and answering right, and finally, obeying what you have been told with wisdom. This case must be closed; your case must be closed!
Be blessed, I love you!
