[Luke 19:12-22 KJV] “He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. [13] And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. [14] But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us. [15] And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. [16] Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. [17] And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. [18] And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds. [19] And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities. [20] And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: [21] For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. [22] And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
Discussion
1. Don’t let anyone tell you that you are inferior:
You were created in the image and the likeness of God to rule in the stead of God. You were created wonderfully and fearfully. You are not a mistake. You were born with grace and talent buried deep in you.
2. Don’t be persuaded that it can’t be done:
All things are possible to him that believes. As long as you are willing and ready to be wired and developed for success you can attain unto it. You must be polished and prepared for impact.
3. Be planted in the right environment:
See Luke 19:12-22
[1 Corinthians 15:33 KJV] “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners”.
[Ephesians 4:29 KJV] “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”
4. Find purpose:
Purpose brings values and boundaries
[Proverbs 29:18 KJV] “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”
[1 Corinthians 9:24-27 KJV] “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. [25] And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. [26] I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: [27] But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway”.
5. Sharpen your skills:
[Ecclesiastes 10:10 KJV] “If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.”
6. Get wisdom
[Ecclesiastes 7:11 KJV] “Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun.”
7. Submit to your handlers and helpers:
Indeed you are the one with the talent, beauty, and the voice to sing, but we are the people who have the wisdom, connection, and grace to help you.
Esther was beautiful but it took her submission to the king’s chamberlain to win the contest.
Ruth may be the one that Boaz liked, but Naomi is the one who has the wisdom and the connection to qualify Ruth.
David is the one who was anointed to be king but his soldiers would have to form an army to make him king.
[Proverbs 24:6 KJV] “For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.”
[2 Corinthians 1:24 KJV] “Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.”
[1 Chronicles 12:31,38 KJV] “And of the half tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, which were expressed by name, to come and make David king. [38] All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king”.
