Receiving the Holy Spirit is the Most Expedient Thing to Do

I want to exhort you today on the need to crave and desire and pray for a fresh baptism of the Holy Spirit. Receiving the Holy Spirit is the most expedient thing anyone of us can do.

[John 16:7-16 KJV] “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you”.

[8] “And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: [9] Of sin, because they believe not on me; [10] Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; [11] Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged”.

[12] “I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. [13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. [14] He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. [15] All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. [16] A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father”.

The Holy Spirit is our ever-present help, and comforter. He has been given in the stead of Christ. The Lord Jesus returned to Heaven so that the Holy Spirit would be given to help all of us. The Lord Jesus Christ, in His earthly ministry, could be at only one place at a time, but the Holy Spirit can be everywhere at the same time to help everyone.

The Holy Spirit has a two-fold mission on earth now:

1. The Holy Spirit is given to convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgement.

2. The Holy Spirit is given to guide us into all truth, to show us things to come, and to reveal the glory of Christ to us.

The Holy Spirit has such an important role to play both in missions and in Christian living. He is the Lord of the harvest and “another comforter of the same kind“. It is almost impossible to live a victorious Christian life without the Holy Spirit.

We need the Holy Spirit; we need Him every hour. He is given to comfort, to convict, to guide, to shew, and to reveal things to us. He is our great Helper. We must strive to become addicted to His presence. We must hunger for more of Him. We must strive to receive Him. Pray that He visits us in every meeting. Church will feel so different when He is present. He is ready and standing at the door and knocking;

Those who have the Holy Spirit know more truth, and know more of the future, and see more of Christ. Welcome the Spirit of God. Let us teach more of Him. Telling our friends, family and children about the Holy Spirit is a sign that we want to receive Him. The Bible tells us that only those who know Him can receive Him. Helping this generation know Him will empower them to receive Him.

Join the crusade! Let us teach about Him. Let us speak and tell the world about who He is. Don’t hold your peace, speak out, and work hard to receive Him.

Then ask the father to give him to us. The bible tells us that the father will give the Holy Spirit when we ask as a father would give good gifts to his children. Join the prayer party, let pray for a fresh baptism.

Finally, let us expect Him. Let’s pray and expect Him to fall afresh on us. He is the Holy Spirit. Let us wait in earnest expectation.

Without the Holy Ghost, we cannot be effective in missions; and the world would be eternally lost. We need the presence and anointing of the Holy Spirit. Let us wait earnestly for a fresh baptism of fire.

God bless you

I love you!
