The story of Noah in Genesis is one of the most inspiring stories of the Bible. I believe that his story tells a lot of truth which we can’t overlook. The key truth from his life, however, teaches how any generation of men can rise from the ruins, and put together the shattered pieces of life.
The Bible tells how the whole world was destroyed by a flood. We understand how life on earth was interrupted many days by a storm, and all men were destroyed. After the flood abated, only one family made it alive. I dont know what you have been through in the past years; but most of us have had very turbulent past and life. The good news, however, is that we can rise from the ruins.
To rise from the ruins after the storm, you need to do the following;
1. Wake up to the new norm:
I speak of a new norm, not one that you create but a new norm that is possible because of the experience you have been through. The new norm that the word of God defines for you. Before the flood, man was vegan (depended on plants only for food and nutrition) but after the flood, man became omnivore. Noah and his generation had to wake up to a new norm. You can make it after the storm when you learn to walk in the new reality.
(Genesis 9:1-5 KJV) “And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. [2] And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. [3] Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. [4] But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat. [5] And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man”.
Many people die because they are too set in their says and are unable to embrace the new norm. They can’t adapt to change. They expect it this way because that is what it has been always. But it should not be like that you, get ready to embrace the new thing that God is about to introduce in your life.
One day, God told Joshua; “now! My servant Moses is dead….” The death of Moses marked the end of an era and the beginning of a new one. Joshua had to wake up to the new reality. Stop living the shadows and debris of yesterday, when a new day dawns. Master the courage and arise to your new reality.
How then would you know the new norm? Read the word, listen to the pastors appointed over you, and meditate or pray.
2. Believe you can rise again:
The second secret to rise and build from the ruins is to believe the possibility of a new outcome. Noah believed God and was willing to take hold of the new beginning. Listen, there are so many people who don’t have what you have but are doing what you want to do. Such people are making it because thy believe in themselves. You must also believe that it is possible to rise from the ruins after the storm.
3. Pray and sow your seed;
Ask for the help and the hand of God. Everyone of us who wants to rise from the ruins must offer his or her sacrifices. Offer your sacrifices on the altar. You recieve if you ask. “You have not because you asked not”. God knows what you need but He still wants you to show that you need Him. He knows that you need a house but you have to show that you need His help in acquiring that house. This is why prayer or asking is a key secret to recieving divine help. Noah rose after the storm because he offered a sacrifice of clean beast. You must offer the sacrifices of prayer, praise, substance and worship. Show God that you know how much you need Him.
4. Finally, work diligently and intelligently at something:
It takes work after faith to embrace and walk into a new norm and reality. You must work, you must believe, you must pray. “The desire of a lazy man will kill him, because he will not put his hands to work”. But “the hand of the diligent shall bear rule”, and “wisdom is profitable to direct”. I pray that the good Lord shall help us to work.
The Bible tells us in Genesis 9 that Noah began to be a farmer. Noah did not go to sleep after church, he went on to till his land. Noah went on to till his land. You must arise to work.
I have no doubt that every man can rise from the ruins and soar with wings as an eagle. I believe that what you see, believe, ask, and work for will become your new reality. God will help you. He wants to help you. He wants to work with you and bless you. You shall not fail. Be exhorted and inspired to give it another shot, and you shall not fail!
