[1 John 3:8 KJV] “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil”.

Further Scripture Reference: 1 John 3

As it was in the beginning, the earth was without form and void, and darkness covered the face of the earth. And God said, “let there be light!” And there was light (See Genesis 1:1-5).

The Bible further teaches us in John 1:1ff, that Jesus Christ was that light that was manifested in the beginning and he is that same light that was manifested in the flesh about 2000 years ago to destroy the works of the devil (See John 1:1-14).

This same Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was manifested to destroy the works of the devil. What are the works of the devil?

What are the works of the devil?

Luke 4:18 teaches that the works that Jesus came to destroy are the repercussions of sin and the fall of man. In 1 John 3:1-8, the work of the devil is sin, hatred, and unrighteousness! However, the repercussions of sin, hatred, and unrighteousness are:

  1. Poverty
  2. Broken heartedness
  3. Captivity
  4. Blindness
  5. Bruises
  6. Bad seasons and evil days

But thanks be to God that Jesus Christ, the son of the living God, and the light of the world was manifested to destroy the works of the devil. He came to destroy the power of death, which is sin, and the repercussions that followed our disobedience. He came to destroy poverty, broken heartedness, captivity, blindness, bruises, and bad seasons and evil days. I have no doubt that this moment the light of the world is here! At this moment, the Son of God is here! At this moment Jesus Christ is here to destroy the works of darkness.

How can Jesus Christ destroy the works of the devil?

He does it by the anointing. Luke 4:18 teaches that the Spirit of the Lord is upon Him (Jesus) and that He has anointed Him to preach the gospel to the poor. He went further to explain that when He preaches the gospel to the poor, it will lead to the healing of the brokenhearted, deliverance to the captives, recovery of sight to the blind, liberation of those who are bruised, and the acceptable year of the Lord to all who believe.

The Apostle Paul was not ashamed to preach the gospel, because it is the power of God to save those who believe (See Romans 1:16). The preaching of the gospel is the power of God to save those who believe. You must hear, believe, confess, and act on the Word in order to tap into this saving power of the gospel. The gospel is the power of God, and preaching the gospel is the means of releasing that power to save those who believe.

We know that the Lord destroyed the power of the devil by the anointing through preaching and touching. Acts 10:38 states clearly that God anointed Jesus Christ of Nazareth and He went about doing good. He went about doing good and healing all the sick because He was anointed with power and with the Spirit.

Isaiah 10:27 teaches that “his yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing”. You are released now! You can’t be sick, poor or bound! This is your day and moment to be liberated! Go and be free!

The Lord will heal and liberate and restore by the anointing. You shall be liberated by the anointing! Though the Lord is not here now, His body — the church — is here. We are here to destroy the works of the devil. Today is your day and season of change!

The Lord is passing this way and whosoever will may come and drink of the water of life freely. He is here to heal, liberate, empower and bless by the anointing. He said we shall receive that same power to do the same works He did, and even greater works when we believe and the Holy Ghost comes upon us (See John 12:14, Acts 1:8).

This is the moment, we have received the power after the Spirit came upon us. We have spent time with the Master, with His Majesty and we have His presence and power. This is the moment of truth! This is the time to receive a touch of power. You shall never fail to receive the healing touch of the Lord, Amen!

Be blessed, I love you!
