Galatians 3:1-5 KJV] “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? [2] This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? [3] Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? [4] Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain. [5] He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?”
Life is full of starters and only a few finishers. Many are like clouds without water. They start so well but finish so poorly. They start in the Spirit and yet they are made perfect in the flesh. Many people end poorer than they started. Many people end on a poorer note than their starting. Most businesses fizzle out and die before their 5th year. I am not too sure whether it is a global phenomenon or pertains to where I am. Many don’t finish better then they started because of the following reasons;
1. They foolishly allow others to bewitch them.
2. They throw away their convictions which were based on evidence to go and believe vanity and junk.
3. They are unable to continue in the truth by which they started out.
It is so easy to see the grass greener on the other side than where you stand because of familiarity. That is why many people give up great things they have to settle for lower things they were unable to understand that novelty is charming and magical. In challenging times like these, you will finish better when you work at what you have rather than to run off with new things.
An old boring friend who is loyal to you is far better than a mere acquaintance who makes you feel like a queen. Most people worship new things, only a few remain loyal to familiar things. Grow up and don’t allow anyone to sweep you off your feet with a new doctrine, new teaching, new wine, new call, new toasting, rather, learn to nurture and grow things you have. Be faithful even in challenging times. Let the dark moments make your inner light shine brighter. And remember that a friend is made for adversity.
Don’t allow new truths and knowledge to make you abandon your initial call. Truth is good but we build virtue upon virtue. If you are already in a work relationship or marriage, truth is the new revelation that helps you to remain faithful and loyal. Anything that challenges your continued loyalty is deception. If a guy begins to speak to you in a way that makes you doubt why you should remain loyal, that person is not speaking the truth; that person is only diverting your commitment and loyalty elsewhere.
Anybody who speaks to you and makes you feel like quitting afterwards has subverted your conviction and faith. Anybody who speaks to you and afterwards makes you feel like leaving your marriage has subverted your commitment. Even in a challenging marriage, a helper of your faith or counsel should be able to bring you to the place of considering to continue, showing you the way to go about it.
I pray that with this admonishing you will not allow anyone to subvert your faith; but rather, you shall determine to finish what you’re doing in a better way than when you started. May you receive the finisher’s anointing and go far in doing good.
