Many of today’s generation have been asking the same question that Elisha asked when Elijah was taken away to Heaven. He asked, “where is the Lord God of Elijah?”
[2 Kings 2:14 KJV] “And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the Lord God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.”
I believe that God has never forsaken His people let alone to forsake His own. He is our very present help in times trouble; He is always with His own. God is always present to help and He is here with us.
Now, the following are three reasons why many of us can’t seem to find or see the Lord;
- We have no personal relationship with Him.
- We don’t know Him personally
- We don’t do what Elijah would do if he were here today.
The only way to get the same results as Elijah, Moses, Peter, Paul and the others with this glorious New Covenant is to strive to know God, have a personal relationship with Him and to do what they did. We must ask what Elijah, or Moses, or Paul would be doing if they were here today? That is what we must be doing if we have to experience God as they did.
Whereas we are asking where the Lord God of Elijah is, the God of Elijah is also asking where His Elijahs are. Where are the men who would run this journey as Elijah did? Where are the men who will zealously pursue a revival as Elijah did? This is our time and season, this is the time when we must arise and run the journey set before us. God is counting on us and we cannot fail this generation. There is an answer and we must find it. This is the time to arise and see the hand of God redeem His people. Arise!
