We have been speaking about supernatural manifestations, and I believe that there are four great manifestations that the church must have.
[1 Corinthians 12:1-12 KJV] “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. [2] Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. [3] Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost”.
[4] “Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. [5] And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. [6] And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. [7] But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. [8] For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; [9] To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; [10] To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:”
[11] “But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. [12] For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.”
We need understanding into spiritual things;
Spiritual things are spiritually discerned, they are understood by spiritual men. The Apostle Paul believes that we can make impact as a church when every one of us strives to gain understanding into spiritual things. The Apostle was quick to state that he will not have us ignorant. Each of us must strive to gain understanding into the deeper things of God.
The Apostle Paul is teaching us that there are diversities of gifts, administrations, and operations. The truth will forever remain that we are not the same. There will always be diversity, and that is the reason why each of us must strive for understanding.
It is also important to understand that God is willing to give each of us a gift. Everyone one in the church is given a gift and we must strive to discover, develop, and deploy that gift to the benefit of the church and humanity as a whole. There are over 9 different gifts that can be made available to the church for profiting and to help the world at large.
It is important to understand that your understanding and manifestations of spiritual gifts must translate into the following;
- Foresight: Prophesy, Tongues, and word of wisdom
- Insight: word of knowledge, interpretation of tongue, and discerning of spirits
- Ability: Faith, gifts of healings, and working miracles
- Teamwork
These are the spiritual gifts that turn ordinary men into giants and heroes.
Let us look at the life of Noah; by foresight, he was able to tell that in 120 years it will rain and the whole earth will be flooded. By insight he understood that an ark must be built to save the generations of men, he needed to have the ability to build the ark and be ready to work with a team.
No man has all nine gifts. We are all members of one body and must be ready and willing to work. It takes teamwork to make the team work. God will help and take us far. You are the eyes but he is the legs, and she is the hands. We must learn to work hand in hand as a team if we will make it. This is how Noah saved the world.
How did it happen in the days of Joseph? By foresight, he understood his calling in Egpyt. He knew he was there for a purpose. He walked in integrity because he understood his future and destiny. By the gifts of foresight, the pharaoh had a dream predicting the future, but he needed a man with the gifts of insight to interpret the dream. Joseph was that man; he became the man of the moment and interpreted the dream. Beyond interpreting the dream he demonstrated the ability to build silos to solve the problem. It took team work.
Every nation, family, or organisation is built on the pillars of prophets and forecasters, planners and think tanks, technocrats and builders, and on teamwork. I always say “it takes teamwork to make the team work.”
