Working in the ministry of the Lord can be both fun and fatal. There will be both moments of joy and pain, success and heartbreaks; please brace your mind.
The following wisdom will help you to minimize the effects of success and failures;
1. Trust only God:
Don’t depend on any mortal man for survival, success, or significance. Even your shadows may desert you when you go into the dark season or when they feel threatened.
2. Die to self:
Be willing to sacrifice comfort, conveniences, desires, and ego. You may never live at certain addresses, or have certain titles, or even ever marry. If you can’t die to self, don’t fall for the ministry.
3. Be modest in your approach to life:
Don’t rent expensive meeting places. You don’t need a car or expensive musical instruments.
4. Be humble, visible and accessible.
You are called to the community and to society. You are called to serve, so you must be accessible to the people you serve. You must strive to be visible and accessible in order to serve the people.
5. Encourage the young people and the teams:
You must understand that the young people are the future of the church. Encourage them to step into ministry and let them serve and serve better.
6. Endure hardship:
Ministry is not for babies. It is important to serve and endure hardship. You must make up your mind and serve.
7. Lead well:
Lead well. Failing to lead well is one of the key reasons why people leave church. I pray that God will give you the skills to lead and advance the course of the kingdom.
8. Prepare to lose people you truly love:
People and pastors leaving churches did not begin today. People and pastors leave every church every day. I must acknowledge it is the most painful thing to think about, but I must warn you to prepare yourself for the heartache.
I love you
