The devil’s most subtle weapon against you is enticements. Many people have died, failed, or messed up because they failed to recognise and escape these subtle weapons.
[Matthew 4:8-10 KJV] “Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; [9] And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. [10] Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”
By this weapon, the devil shows you the kingdom and the glory of this world and promises pleasure, gratification and reward, but he never discloses the real price of all that.
So the following are the devil’s most common tools for enticing believers;
1. The flattery and appeal of strange women:
This is referring to the impudence od strange women, their availability, readiness to sin and cheat, smooth flattering words, their attire, and sensuality.
Proverbs 7 teaches that the strange woman is a narrow pit, and the road to her house is a road to the grave. Many have fallen prey to the schemes of strange women. They dress in the attire of a harlot and flatter with their lips.
2. Vain promises of faithfulness from strange men:
Every man promises of his unfailing love but faithful men are hard to find. Many strange men will promise you heaven on earth because they know they won’t keep their word. It is very easy for you to fall prey to these sweet talk and promises. It is easy to believe in the vanity they promise, but I pray for you that you will escape every pitfall.
3. The gain and prosperity of wicked, sinners and bloodshed
The Bible teaches that when sinners entice you don’t follow them. Many of us, especially the young generation, seem to fall easily to these enticements. For instance, you could be living your godly life peacefully until the day you met your mate from school who seem to have succeeded. And you easily get enticed by their success.
Many of us end up compromising our integrity and dignity because we want what others have. Many have turned into prostitutes and thieves all because they saw and were enticed by the gains of whoredom which their mates displayed.
Many have also turned to satanism and occultism because they were enticed by the wealth, influence and power of a satanist they met. Yes, we may all be mates but it is not true that we should all marry at the same age, or start a business at the same time or succeed on the same day. Let us learn to be content with such as we have.
4. The pleasures and appeal of sin:
Sin can be enticing and pleasurable. When Cain conceived the thought of murdering his brother, the Lord warned him, but he still fell because he was enticed by the pleasures of sin.
I pray that none of us will be hardened by the pleasures of sin. I pray for your escape. You will not fall prey, amen!
5. The appeal and beauty of vanity:
The Bible says “let he that is being deceived believe not in vanity.” Vanity has a special appeal because it comes easy, you pay the least price for it, and it seems easy to get. I believe with all of my heart that many of the people who are being deceived first believe in vanity.
6. The meat and wine of Absalom:
Many have gone to an early grave because they were lured by the meat and wine of Absalom. Ammon died because he lusted for the meat and wine of Absalom. I pray that you shall not love the meat and wine of a bitter brother.
I love you
