I want to exhort you on the need to understand the mystery of God. We want to explore the hidden but revealed things about God.
[John 4:19-24 KJV] “The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
The Lord was emphatic about the fact that the Samaritans were making many religious and faith mistakes because they were worshipping what they don’t know. As long as we do not know what we worship, we will be deceived and fooled.
Every one of us must understand the mystery of God. Who is the Lord? We must strive to know what is in God. Many are not serving God well because we don’t know the mystery of God. We must try to discover the mystery of God.
God is a Spirit:
You cannot discern God by your senses. God is a spirit and you can only discern and connect with Him by your spirit. We can only serve God better when we approach Him with our spirits.
God is the God of gods, a great God, terrible and mighty:
It is important to understand that God is not a respecter of persons. He is mighty and terrible. Because we know the terror of the Lord, we must warn all men. You must learn, therefore, to behave yourselves well. God does not have any favourites; He loves all men and will do for all men what the cross of Christ has achieved.
[Deuteronomy 10:17-18 KJV] “For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of Lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward: He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.”
If you know that God is mighty and terrible; you will treat strangers, fatherless and widows well. These are special groups of people and you must treat them with godly love and care.
God is a consuming fire:
The Bible teaches that because is a consuming fire; we must be careful about rebelling against messengers He sends to us. Whenever God wants to save a generation, He sends them messengers, preachers and prophets. See to it that you do not rebel against the messengers God sends to you.
See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire.
The Lord is a consuming fire and He will defend and keep us, but He will consume us if we rebel against His messengers. Let us be careful!
I will give you more mysteries about God, but these are a few things you must understand about God to keep you safe and in faith.
Stay blessed, I love you!
