I want to exhort you to join the company of those who publish the word. This is the time to arise and reap the benefits of telling friends and families about the good news; about what God is doing among and with us.
[Psalms 68:11 KJV] “The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.”
(Further Reading: Psalm 68)
This is the time to tell a friend to tell a friend. This is the time to stand on the rooftop to declare the goodness and the commandment of the Lord.
[Matthew 10:27 KJV] “What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.”
The gospel is not a secret to be kept; it is news to be shared! The Lord is teaching His church to speak and share and testify of what He is doing for, among, and with them. This is the time to speak in the light and from the roof top and not in the dark and in ears.
Our victory is connected to our publishing and sharing. We must arise and speak and speak from the rooftops and in the light.
This is the time to lend your WhatsApp status and profile display, Facebook news feed, and contact, Instagram accounts, WhatsApp, and Facebook groups and pages as a billboard to publish the news. You must lend the gates and doors to your homes and shops as billboards.
The truth is we must be both bold and subtle about it. Nobody will catch a fish if you go carrying the hook. You must not be confrontational about it but you shouldn’t be sluggish.
It is important to be reminded that we are stepping out there daily to both;
- Declare or command our victory and
- Exhort others to believe with us
It is, therefore, important to know that you are both commanding victories and publishing the good news. What you declare is what you will walk into; and what they hear is what they will believe. If we leave the world to do the speaking, men will believe the world. If we leave the world to speak loudly, our children, friends, and family will believe the world. But if we speak and publish too, they will believe our report. However, the first step is that we must publish and share our report.
We must publish the Google news by our;
- Words
- Appearance and fashion
- Deeds and conducts
The world must not only hear our words, but they must see our appearance and deeds and conduct and believe.
Our works and attitude matter a lot:
Your light must highlight your good works. Every one of us has some good and some carnal works, but our light must highlight our good works. I am not saying cover up the unfruitful works of darkness, but I am encouraging you to live a glorious life.
[Matthew 5:13-16 KJV] “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Our preaching and prayers matters a lot:
We have no business standing before a world we have not born up in prayer. We must and we have prayed for 40 days, it is time to publish for 30 days. We must both pray and prepare to publish.
[1 Timothy 2:5-9 KJV] “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity. I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting”.
Our appearance and fashion matters a lot:
The way our women dress must reflect what they think and profess. Don’t dress to look like a harlot when you are not one. Nobody knows what you are thinking; we only see what you look like. My beloved keep it neat, simple, authentic, and godly!
[1 Timothy 2:5-12 KJV] “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works”.
Our attitude matters a lot:
We must learn to learn in silence. Many of us are too proud and arrogant. A godly woman does not have an answer for every correction. Pride is stinking and demonic. God detests it. Women, especially, should learn in silence; that is godly!
[1 Timothy 2:11-12 KJV] “Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence”.
Our approach matters a lot;
The best way to reach friends and family and colleagues is to use a subtle but bold approach.
The following are 5 steps to winning and establishing friends and family in the faith;
1. Decide:
Decide that you are attending the meetings and services. You must decide and plan for it.
2. Advertise:
On Monday, display Tuesday morning flyers on WhatsApp, Facebook, and social media platforms; right after Tuesday meeting, display Wednesday Evening Service display photo. Start advertising Friday Evening meeting by Thursday, and advertise Sunday morning meetings by Friday night. You must literally smell of the church. Always find subtle ways to display our power and faith quotes.
3. Invite:
Get handbills and invite people you meet at the hair salon. When they share their problems with you, let them know that their solution is your church. Invite friends and family to gender or age-specific meetings and teach them what to do and how to receive when they come.
4. Prepare:
Have you realized that most businesses that offer value don’t discuss price? If you are selling Benz, you don’t waste your time on people who discuss price. Those who know the value will just buy. Nobody wants to attend a service that is shoddy and poorly organized. Let us join in the organization of the service. Let us offer our skills and strength and resources to produce a great meeting always.
5. Follow up:
Need I say more about follow-up? Just send gentle reminders to those you have invited. Remember to be bold but subtle. Use the tool of testifying to stir up their interest. Don’t motivate them with carnal and earthly rewards. Let everyone you are inviting to a meeting understand that although they will gain many earthly rewards, what matters is the eternal impact the meeting will have on their lives.
6. Attend:
Finally, let those you have invited come and find you in the service yourself. When we close greet them and see them off. Don’t go with them, let them develop the habit of coming by themselves. If you are a church worker or helper; don’t leave the mopping up just to rush off with a person you invited, don’t let them wait for you either. It will discourage them; see them off and let them see you serving after the service; it’s a great example.
Dearly beloved, I have no doubt that you are making a decision to join the company of them that publish the news.
Stay blessed, I love you!
