If there is one truth I want you to know, it is the fact that there are always oppositions to the glory, —something that is trying to stop the restoration of glory to your life. This is a truth and a lesson you must know. It is either an adversary, your nature, or a spirit that is trying to stop the manifestation of glory, honour, and dignity to your life.
What many of us are unaware of is the fact that there is always a power trying to stop you from ever shining and rising to glory. When Joshua was due to be ordained as high priest, the enemy fought him. (See Zachariah 3).
When Jesus was about to die and be glorified through the crucifixion, the adversary fought Him. There is always a power trying to stop you from shunning and walking in glory. My prayer, however, is that as we step into this new year, the Lord shall rebuke these powers!
When the enemy rose against Joshua, the angel that stood by withstood him and said “My Lord rebuke you.”
[Zechariah 3:1-2 MSG] “Next the Messenger-Angel showed me the high priest Joshua. He was standing before God ‘s Angel where the Accuser showed up to accuse him. Then God said to the Accuser, “I, God , rebuke you, Accuser! I rebuke you and choose Jerusalem. Surprise! Everything is going up in flames, but I reach in and pull out Jerusalem!”
Now listen, there is always a power trying to stop you, but I believe the angel of the Lord is ready is to;
- Rebuke every adversary
- Change your garments and
- Instruct you
“And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord , and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?”
“Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment. And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments.”
“And the angel of the Lord stood by. And the angel of the Lord protested unto Joshua, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.”
“Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH.”
“For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day. In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, shall ye call every man his neighbour under the vine and under the fig tree.”
The things the Lord will rebuke include
- The adversary vexing you
- The sin nature that makes you wretched
- The deceitfulness of sin that holds you bound
- The spirit of laziness. “Through idleness, the roof falls through.”
- The spirit of folly that makes your fragrance smell
- The spirit of afflictions and infirmity that robs your beauty
- The spirit of the accuser that accuses you day and night
- The spirit of profanity that makes you treat holy things lightly
- The spirit of pride that comes before a fall
- The spirit of prodigality that makes you want to go far from the father’s influence
- The spirit of perversion that makes you fight nature
- The spirit of witchcraft that bewitches you
Stay blessed, I love you.
