Making a Hedge for You to Stand in the Day of Battle!

The ministry and the responsibility of a prophet are to make a hedge for you to be able to stand in the day of battle.

A hedge is a wall of thorns that is set up to restrict access to or to protect a person, place, or goods.

The Bible teaches us that a hedge will keep you and your goods safely. You will be shocked what will happen to you the day the hedge around you is broken. The devil was not able to touch Job, his family nor his goods because the Lord had made a hedge around him. The surprising truth is what happened when the hedge was compromised. As I read what happened, I began to understand why we must erect a hedge around you and everything you have.

The very day the Lord removed the hedge, Job lost his goods, his business, his children, his servants, and everything. Job lost everything! Read this:

[Job 1:9‭-‬19 KJV] “Then Satan answered the Lord , and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. “

“But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand.”

“So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord .”

“And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house:”

“And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them: And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.”

“While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee”.

“While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.”

“While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house: And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.”

Some of us don’t know what the hedge does for us. We are so secured and feel so safe that we begin to joke with the hedge and the grace that keeps us.

Listen, my calling as a prophet requires that I raise a hedge that will enable you to stand in the day of battle. You must do well not to break the hedge by Disobedience, Sin, Fruitlessness (See Isaiah 5:5), removing the stones, or by arrogance.

There are times when we feel restricted by the very hedge that protects us, and we begin to remove them ourselves. Listen, if you dare remove the stones that hedge out your life a serpent will bite you.

Ecclesiastes 10:8‭-‬9 KJV “He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him. Whoso removeth stones shall be hurt therewith; and he that cleaveth wood shall be endangered thereby.”

I have seen people remove stones of restrictions and control and have been bitten by serpents. Be careful with what you are removing and why.

As I lift the oil, I am raising a hedge that will keep you from the bite and vernom of serpents. I am mandated and I will erect a hedge around you, your family, and your goods and business. We are going to raise the hedge to keep the devil out and get you ready to stand in battle.

[Ezekiel 13:1‭-‬5 KJV]  “And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the Lord;”

“Thus saith the Lord God ; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts. Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the Lord.”

There are four simple steps to build the hedge of protection. Remember, there are many types of hedges;

• The hedge of protection,
• The hedge of restriction, and
• The hedge opposition.

4 simple steps to raise the hedge are;

1. Standing in the gap as an intercessor
2. Instructing you with truth as revealed by God
3. Directing you by prophetic instructions
4. Anointing you with oil.

This I will do, but you must do well to keep the hedge intact. You must be ready to endure the inconvenience of staying under the hedge and grace of protection.
