Having studied the book of acts to understand revivals and church growth and soul-winning; I have come to understand that every revival, church growth, or soul-winning was hinged and revolved around 4 pillars: the supernatural manifestations, the publishing of the message and testimonies, the mutual connection and support, and the ministering to the weak and marginalized.
These are the 4 pillars of each revival, soul-winning, and church growth:
In Acts 2, we read that the Holy Ghost came, the news went round and was noised abroad, the people gathered, Peter and the eleven stood and preached, then 3000 was added that same day.
In Acts 4, a cripple was healed at the Beautiful Gate, the news went round, the church prayed, the message was preached and many were saved and added.
There is always a need for the 4 pillars to be built if we can sustain the revival and the growth.
- The supernatural manifestations are so important
- The publishing of the messages and testimonies is extremely necessary.
- The mutual connection and minister to the needs of one another
These are the pillars and we cannot overlook them. We must work hard to establish these pillars if we want to see the lost saved and the churches filled.
People must see and experience the supernatural power of God. Our preaching must not be by the enticing words of a man’s wisdom, but by the demonstration of power.
We must explain what happens to the people. Many people will not understand what they are seeing; we have to explain to them. We must not leave room for speculations; let us spread the word and testify.
Remember, we are members of one another; so the larger we grow the more concerned we should be about the weak and marginalized. The prisoners, the sick, the naked, the widow, the thirsty; we must care about the needs of others and we will be reaching far more people. The early Church sold and gave to the needs of the weak and poor. We must work, plan both our earnings and spending.
Stay blessed
