Wickedness is real and witchcraft is real but more real is the power of God to contain these things. I pray that as we fast and pray this second day of fire glory waiting, the Lord will release His power against such household wickedness.
Wickedness is generally considered a synonym for evil or sinfulness; but among theologians and philosophers, it has the more specific meaning of evil committed consciously and of free will. It can also be considered the quality or state of being wicked. Wickedness is, therefore, the state of being wicked; a mental disregard for justice, righteousness, truth, honor, virtue; evil in thought and life; depravity; sinfulness; criminality.
Wickedness is real but the most painful type of wickedness is the household wickedness. This is evil that is willfully perpetuated by people of your household.
ABEL suffered death at the hands of his own big brother, Cain. Cain murdered his brother in cold blood; he murdered him for no reason. AHITOPHEL was a companion of David and he betrayed him. He deserted him and began to coach Absalom on how to finish him. Sometimes, butter and greed can move people of your household to perpetrate wickedness against you. THE PERSON who sought to turn the Proconsul from the faith was his own friend, not an enemy. He was a friend and a companion.
JOSEPH went to prison, slavery, and through pain, because his own brother sold him to the Ishmaelites. They even wanted to kill him. The wickedness he suffered came from his own household, not from strangers.
How did Joseph survive household wickedness? Let’s read Genesis 49:22-26; “Joseph is a fruitful bough, Even a fruitful bough by a well; Whose branches run over the wall: The archers have sorely grieved him, And shot at him , and hated him: But his bow abode in strength, And the arms of his hands were made strong By the hands of the mighty God of Jacob;”
“ (From thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:) Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; And by the Almighty, who shall bless thee With blessings of heaven above, Blessings of the deep that lieth under, Blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:”
“The blessings of thy father Have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors Unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: They shall be on the head of Joseph, And on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.”
If you want to prevail over household wickedness;
- LET YOUR BOW ABIDE IN STRENGTH
- REFUSE TO BE BITTER
- STRENGTHEN YOUR ARM IN THE LORD
- FOCUS ON THE DREAM AND PURPOSE
- MAINTAIN YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS, it will soon pay off
- HONOUR THE BROTHERHOOD.
The brothers of Joseph sold him to see what will become of his dream to rule but he abode in the blessings of his father and stayed true to his dreams and calling.
Your familiar friends may have given up on you but you cannot give up on yourself. This is the time to pursue the dream and work the vision. This is the time to push until something happens. Pray, plan, and pursue until something happens.
The wicked are not God. If you don’t give up on yourself and God; there is no way wickedness can stop you. This is the time to prosper and thrive even during chaos. The wickedness of the wicked shall not thrive. God will be your helper.
The same God that helped Joseph shall help you. He shall strengthen and keep you. He shall sustain you.
