[Ephesians 6:11-20 KJV] “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places .”
“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”
“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; and for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”
Apostle Paul, in his closing remarks in a letter to the church in Ephesus,
exhorted them to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might; put
on the whole armour of God (the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of
righteousness, the belt of truth, the shield of faith, the sword of the spirit
which is the word of God, and the readiness to preach the gospel; take a stand to withstand even in an evil day, and watch and pray with all prayers and supplication in the spirit and with perseverance.
This is because;
1. We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers and the rules of the darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places (See Ephesians 6:10-14)
2. Though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. We have weapons that are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. (See 2 Corinthians 10:3-4)
3. Our adversary, the devil is roaring like a lion, seeking whom he may devour. The devil means business and he is not joking at all. We must understand that he is seeking whom he may devour. The devil is ready to devour if you give him the chance. (See 1 Peter 5:8-10)
4. The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. (See John 10:9-10) there is a thief out there ready to either steal, kill or destroy. We must resist him steadfastly and he will flee. We must stand up against him.
5. Jesus Christ has given us authority and power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over every power of the enemy. (See Luke 10:18-19) you have authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions; nothing shall by any means hurt you.
6. Whosoever is born of God keeps himself and the wicked one does not touch him. Those who believe that Jesus is the son of God keep themselves and the wicked one does not touch them. You must learn to keep yourself. (See 1 John 5:18)
7. Whatever you allow on earth shall be allowed in heaven and whatever you disallow in the earth shall be disallowed in heaven. We have the power to determine what happens on the earth. If you shut up, you make the world vulnerable. (See Matthew 16:19)
We can overcome and breakthrough in this life if we do these four things. Be
strong, put on the whole armour, take a stand to withstand, and watch and pray. These are 4 simple things you can do.
Stay blessed
