[Numbers 23:13-16 KJV] “And Balak said unto him, Come, I pray thee, with me unto another place, from whence thou mayest see them: thou shalt see but the utmost part of them, and shalt not see them all: and curse me them from thence.”
“And he brought him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar. And he said unto Balak, Stand here by thy burnt offering, while I meet the LORD yonder. And the LORD met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, Go again unto Balak, and say thus.”
An altar is a point at which mortal men offer sacrifices and tokens to invoke the help and venom of deities, demons or spirit being.
There are times when these altars are erected and sacrificed upon to invoke the help of a deity or demonic spirit or any spirit being. Altars are both real and spiritual. Altars are meeting points between men and spirits where we invoke powers.
There are godly altars and there are demonic altars. Tonight we want to deal with evil altars. When Balak engaged Balaam to curse, he erected seven altars on each of the high points or mountain tops they moved to. If God had not intervened, Israel would have been finished. Tonight may God intervene for someone!
Sometimes, you may not even know that altars are erected against you and your progress. You cannot leave life to chance; this is the time to arise and battle against the altars! Balak and Balaam stood on the mountain to invoke curses but God met Balaam and put words in his mouth. God moved the sacrifices and tokens of Balak and Balaam to frustrate them.
Let us arise and begin to wage war against altars:
- Lift your voice and hallow the name of the Lord! Let us exalt the name that is above all names!
- Pray that any altar erected against the progress of your life shall break in pieces! Speak against any such altar!
- Pray that any sacrifice or tokens offered upon any altar working against you should frustrate those who offered it!
- Pray that the finished work of Christ on the cross would speak on your behalf! Pray that the victory of the cross shall be enforced in your life.
- Pray that any altar that is ministering failure against your increase shall break in pieces by fire and by thunder!
- I decree that God will put words in the mouth of any priest engaged to curse you by altars; that priest will end up blessing you!
- May the supreme sacrifice and token that was sacrificed upon the tree and the altar of God proclaim your redemption, restoration, and increase! Receive it!
