[Romans 4:16-21 KJV] “Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, (as it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.”
“Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.”
“And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.”
The Bible teaches that when the promise of God to Abraham seems to have delayed; father Abraham did not stagger at the promise through unbelief; rather;
- he was strong in faith and giving glory to God
- He was fully persuaded that God who had promised was able to perform
The Bible teaches that even when it did not make sense, Abraham kept believing. This is our time and now is our season. Can we keep believing and holding on to the promise?
Even against hope, Abraham hoped. What was he still hoping when it did not make sense? It was because he was persuaded that;
1. God’s word is yea and Amen.
God has never failed a person. He never fails; He keeps His promise. 2 Corinthians 1:20 KJV teaches that “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us”. He never fails! He keeps His word!
2. God’s thoughts and ways are far above human understanding
God’s thoughts are far above ours and His ways are as high as the heavens are above the earth. So many times God does not make sense because His ways and thoughts are far above searching.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
“For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
[Isaiah 55:8-11 KJV]
3. God’s word will not return to Him void
God’s word would not return to Him void; it would accomplish the purpose to which it was sent. Though it may tarry we must learn to wait for it; it shall not tarry. His word will be manifested.
4. Every good and perfect gift come from God and there is no variableness in Him.
[James 1:17 KJV] “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
There are no shadows of turning in Him. He is the prayer-answering and covenant-keeping God!
5. God is not a man that He should lie nor the son of man that He should repent.
Great is the faithfulness of God; there are no shadows of turning in Him. He is our good and faithful God. I will trust Him all the days of my life. I know that this storm will be over; the church will grow; my ministry will boom. God never disappoints!
[Numbers 23:19 KJV] “God is not a man, that he should lie; Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”
6. Nothing is too difficult for God if we can keep trusting.
There is nothing too difficult God God. He calls the things that be not as though they were. Whatever God has said, He will and can do it.
This is our God and will serve Him all the days of our lives. He is faithful and trustworthy. We can incline all our weight on Him and His word; He does not fail. God is good and faithful. Trust Him!
Amen
