Being planted in the house of the Lord is one of the key pillars in the practice of the Christian faith. The story of the prodigal son points to the truth that God wants His children to stay home and work in His field and business. It is the desire of God that we will stay home and work in His vineyard. Any desire to be away from the father’s influence and presence is a sign of waywardness and prodigality.
It is important to state that one of the sure signs that you are planted in the house if the Lord is your continual coming to fellowship with God and the brethren; and continuing in the doctrine of the house. Every house has protocols and doctrines; the children of the house must continue in them. You are planted if you keep coming for the services and walking in the doctrine.
Why keep coming
- Obadiah1:17 teaches that “upon Zion, there shall be deliverance, holiness, and possessing of possessions.”
- Isaiah 2:1-3 teaches that it is on the mountain of the Lord, he shall teach us his ways and we will walk in it.
- Because God is where two or three are gathered in his name. It is on the mountain that we are sure that we will experience and see his manifest presence.
- Because this is the place where we experience the power that prayer releases. His house is called a house of prayer for all nations.
- Psalm 91:12-14 teaches that those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.
- It is in these meetings that we find the opportunity to both serve, give, and be touched.
How can I keep coming
- The first things you need to do is to prioritise our meeting. Make it one of the main things you see as a priority; a first priority.
- Note all the meeting and purpose in your heart to attend. Make it a purpose, a date, and a necessity!
- Plan and manage your time. Plan every service the day before. Plan Sundays on Saturdays, Wednesdays on Tuesdays, Fridays on Thursdays. Keep the times blocked.
- Plan your clothes, pack your bags, and determine your set off time.
- So then purpose, plan, pray to attend and attend.
