We have been discussing demonic possession for some time now, and we wish to take it to another level. I want to share that deliverance is for unbelievers; whereas warfare is for the church.
[Ephesians 6:10-20 KJV] “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”
“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; and for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”
We are called and equipped to do warfare and cast out devils. Though it is true that in war situations soldiers may be captured and need to be delivered, soldiers do wait on a deliverer, they engage in warfare. The church is the body of Christ on earth, called to do warfare against all the satanic powers released to attack and maim us. It is unacceptable and out of place for any of us to sit down waiting on some pastor to come and set you free. You have what it takes and you should be fighting alongside the church. We are called to cast out devils.
None of us should just sit around waiting for deliverance. Immediately the devil tries to make a move you stop him. You should never allow bad thoughts to take over your life. You are called to resist the adversary in faith and he will flee. Don’t sit nor stand aloof; arise and resist the devil fiercely in faith, and he will flee.
[1 Peter 5:8-10 KJV] “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.”
We are the hope of the world; the people around us are counting on us to be free from devils; we cannot be waiting on a deliverer anymore. You must get ready to do some warfare. The church is the army – called to fight and subdue darkness. Get ready! We wrestle not against flesh and blood; we are here to oppose principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places. This is our responsibility and we must be up and doing.
- Be strong in the Lord and the power of his might
- Put on the whole armour of God
- Take a stand to withstand even in the evil day
- Pray and watch with all prayers, perseverance, and supplication for yourself, the saints, and your pastor.
These are the master keys to collectively winning. We are called to wrestle and resist darkness. We have the authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over every power of the enemy. You have what it takes; rise to the occasion and let us win.
Stay blessed
