[Ephesians 6:10-20 KJV] “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”
“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; and for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”
Most often than not we tend to forget what is most important to do. Today, I want to encourage you to put on the whole armour of God even after you are strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Remember we have discussed five things that will change the game for you.
- Your spiritual net
- Your habits
- Your aptitudes
- Your perspectives and
- Your environment
It is important to understand that what we are involved in is not a weekend that you get out of. It’s a long and intense fight that is being fought from every angle and in any plane. This is the time to put on the whole armour of God if you will win.
Take hold and put on truth, the gospel, the word of God, righteousness, faith, salvation, praying and watching. This is the time to take these things and allow them to be part of your life if you really want to win against the devil and evil.
[Ephesians 6:10-20 MSG] “And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way.”
“This is no weekend war that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels. Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet.”
“Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open.”
“Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out. And don’t forget to pray for me. Pray that I’ll know what to say and have the courage to say it at the right time, telling the mystery to one and all, the Message that I, jailbird preacher that I am, am responsible for getting out.”
Why put on the whole armour of God?
- That you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (See Ephesians 6:11)
- That you may be able to withstand in the evil day (See Ephesians 6:13)
- Because no man can divide your goods as spoil until they have succeeded in taking your armour from you (See Luke 11:22)
- Because only those who can put on armour can stand in the gap in the day of battle (See 2 Kings 3:21
Stay blessed
