[Matthew 28:19-20 KJV] “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
The mandate of the church is to go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature. We are called to both preach the gospel to the nations and teach those who believe to observe what we have been commanded to do. There are certain things we have been commanded to do, and it’s to teach the world. This is the core mandate of the church.
I call upon you to reach out to the nations. You are called to reach out to the place you live, work and play. You are the missionary sent to your familiar places, Jerusalem. We must get ready to reach out this day, and it will require five key things;
- Pray
- Study
- Plan
- Partner
- Dress appropriately
Pray
In 1 Timothy 2:1-8, Apostle Paul exhorted that the first step to finding peace to serve God in any civil society is to pray for all men and for those in authority. Praying is the first step to reaching out. Let us find time and pray.
Study
The witness must study his or subject and testimony well. We must master our faith and know what is believed among us in an orderly manners. I will recommend that you read and master the gospel according to Luke. Luke the physician and companion of Apostle Paul, took time and painstakingly wrote his the book of Luke, so that we will know what is believed among us.
Plan
Failing to Plan is planning to fail. We live in a busy and advanced world, and the systems of the world have become such that without a conscientious plan, you will never have the time to do anything. You must plan your time if you want to reach out!
Partner
This is the most conventional wisdom in all outreach efforts. When the Lord sent them as sheep among wolves, He sent them two by two. The Lord sent Barnabas and Paul; when they separated, Paul went with Silas. We must partner with others not just financially but also form a team for our safety.
Dress Suitably
Dressing is important to the success of your ministry. Dress casually if you are reaching out to the inner city but dress business-like if you are reaching out to the corporate world. Women should dress to depict shamefacedness and godliness.
I wish that we all plan to spend our Saturday afternoon reaching out to others. We must also endeavour to do lifestyle evangelism and reach out to the place we live, work, and play.
Love you
